ABOUT US
Baguley Athletic Football Club was established in 2013. We have a first senior team which plays in the Manchester League Premier Division, plus a Reserve Squad. In addition to this we have 150 plus youth players ranging from U8's through to U14's, we also have a new girls team and are championing this area of development. Baguley Athletic Football Club is a Football Association Charter Standard Club. The award of this status is recognition that the club is well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It is also recognition of the club’s commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game. Why not come and see what #TheBadgers have to offer?
OUR HISTORY
Founded in 2004, Baguley Athletic began life as a breakaway from Woodhouse Park United, launching with a passionate under-14 side. The early years brought rapid success, including back-to-back promotions and league titles. However, by 2007, the club went on hiatus.
In 2013, Baguley Athletic was reborn, this time as an adult Saturday team. Under the guidance of Paul Stewart, the team made an immediate impact with a 7–1 debut win. The club quickly expanded, adding Sunday and Veterans teams, securing sponsorships, and hosting community charity matches.
Between 2014 and 2019, the club flourished:
• Multiple promotions across all teams
• FA Charter Standard Award (2018)
• A full club rebrand
• Return of junior football with new youth teams
Despite a brief pause in 2020, Baguley bounced back stronger. A new first team was formed in 2021, joining the Lancashire & Cheshire League and later stepping up to the Manchester League. A reserve team and more junior squads followed.
In 2023, the club established a thriving junior hub with ten new teams. That same year, both the First Team and Reserves earned promotion.
2024 saw a new era of leadership with joint managers Kyle and Lee Hendley taking charge. The First Team reached the Premier Division and began a ground share with Wilmslow Albion.
Now in 2025, following relegation, Baguley Athletic remains committed to rebuilding, developing talent, and continuing its proud tradition of community-driven football. This year marks the start of an exciting new partnership with Football Fundamentals, who will be taking over the running and continued success of the thriving junior section.
