New Era For Baguley Athletic
After 5 years competing as a  junior football club, Baguley Athletic are about to embark on a new era with the introduction of an open age (Over 16's) squad.
A number of players have already been in talks with the club and have since expressed the desire to play for the newly established team.

Former Under 14s, 15s and 16s manager Paul Stewart, who guided his team to two consecutive championship looks set to take over as manager, with old foe Mike Holmes - former Lisbon St. Anthony's chief - ready to take on the role as second in command.

"I'm very excited to be introducing an open age team into the club, and I am hoping it will give a number of the younger players within the club something to work towards.  We have hit the ground running with this project, and I am amazed by the positive response" Paul Stewart said.

Baguley favourites including Martyn Story, Chris Wallis and Scott McGahey have been the first to have expressed an interest in joining the revolution, it would be a huge step up for the three players, who were members of last years Under 16s successful championship charge.  They are likely to be joined by Gardner's Arms trio Carl Wakefield, Paul Shortall and Gareth Hughes, all of which would be a major coup for the club.  Former coach Kane Agnew has also been rumoured to be interested in a return.

Stewart said "I have a lot of players already interested in joining the new set up, and I am hoping to arrange a few friendlies as soon as possible in order for the players to adapt to each others style of play.  Looking at the quality of players interested, I am confident of us doing well in our first year."
